Haha

I loved this... too bad it sounds like it´s saying "Main piercing" and stuff like that.. or "man penis can can can", it sounds cool, though, how did you make this? I could mind altering different clips of recording one word for word.

Gillenium responds:

hahaha, man penis can can can! I like to take titles and lyrics from things reviewers say, so don't be surprised if I use that one...

No special method for this one. Just recorded words and set them as samples in FL Studio. I recorded 25 songs really quickly in an experimental string of songs called the Static Spork Sessions (now with 30 percent more spork!!) Most of them sucked, but I submitted the ones that turned out well (little black cat, my computer can sing, spork wars 2, and ants in blue gel)

Thanks again!

Yeah...

I gave it a listen. I´m glad I did too. Because the more I see through your later tracks, the more gems I see. I wish you made more masterpieces lie these... Slow, relaxed, beautiful tracks like these. I really do imagine relaxing at a daynight beach here. You make the feelings come out with our tracks.
Another great one fro you.

I consider this song to be the dawning of my second age. I tried a bunch of new things and they worked and everybody seemed to like it. It got first place here at NG, and I didn't even cheat! It's probably my favorite song I've ever done, although the more experienced I get, the more flaws I spot in it. Ah well, I can always remake...

Thanks again.

Lovable

Nice beginning, it really made me thinking. Quite soothing melody in the next parts... I´m too lazy to see what song you remade, but I just reviewing 20 or so of your tracks with this alt so I can move on to the next... XD
Either way, this was a very neat dark piece, it´s really some of your finest work of the latest tracks. Great work again man!

Gillenium responds:

Yeah, I remade most of my best old MIDI tracks. Those oldies were made using Anvil Studio. Ah those were the days... Thanks for another review

Ahh

GReat work, man! I loved it! The rain drop beat going throughout the song made the song especially good. I loved how you used maybe as many "real life" effects into it and sampled it into your own song, making the sounds a copyright of you =I
Great work again, I love your tracks!

Gillenium responds:

I always use my own self-made sounds in songs, and lately I've tried to include my own voice in every song. It really does make a recognizable trademark. Thanks again!

hahaha

Sounds fucking hilarous man. But it´s really not a song... You had good rhythm beats to back up the "talk" sequence, though.
But in the middle it just felt like it stopped and I feel like I´ve been left back without anything in my mind... You just skipped in the song and ended it WHILE TALKING!

Gillenium responds:

I made it in friggin TECHNO EJAY and I couldn't even make a decent song! I must've been a retard! I miss that sunkist can...

Thanks for review.

NICE!

Oh, I loved this! 10´s all around! First it sounds more like a techno-styled track, but then it gains a choir, which usually makes it much more dramatic, and it did in this, too.
Great percussion work! I loved the drum beat, which seems kinda basic at first, but it is actually quite complex.
Ends a bit abrupt.

Gillenium responds:

yeah, it's a loop I made for a videogame. I thought it was awesome. They didn't. So now it's on NG, lol. I would like to expand this to a full-fledged song, and include a demonic laugh. Yeah...

Thanks for review again! You have reviewed so many of my songs that I have decided to give you the award for SECOND GREATEST GILLENIUM REVIEWER!! Congrats, although to become the absolute greatest, you'd have to review more than Bamsukka... and that would not be easy...

Hmmm...

I could imagine this in a miniboss battle- actually I think it would fit a big or final boss better. This is really dramatical :) It loops well, too.
Nice addition with the guitar, it makes the sound of it much better. There was nice drums on this, too.
I couldn´t catch any melodies in this, though.

Gillenium responds:

I hate looking back to songs like this. I've improved ten-fold and I just want to slap my past self for making such a shallow song. Shame on you, me!

Ah well, thanks for the review.

You´re making CD?

I saw cornandbeans review... and if you´re making a CD, I´m really buying it if it´s possible for me to get. I love the sound effects you use in your tracks- how do ou make them? Also when they are played this was it sounds really trippy. Nice melody, I loved the style of this.

Gillenium responds:

Making? Bah! I have a CD out now! Well.. my store ran out of stock and I've been lazy... but yes, it's titled Undiscovered Species and it's on cdbaby.com and the iTunes music store. All of the tracks are 2 minutes previewable on cdbaby. I'll try to ship them more copies in a couple days.

As for the sound effects, I make a lot of them myself with a microphone and tons of filters. For the CD I just mentioned, I restricted myself to just using objects in my studio and "vocal talent" of friends when they came over.

Yes

You definatively need to do much more of this kind of stuff. The piano really is beautiful here, and the ambient sounds are giving a really good feeling into the track. It sounds more like an abstract track, though, the melody isn´t especially structured.
Maybe a tad too short.

Gillenium responds:

I got a new midi controller for xmas. I'll be doing this type of stuff from now on :D Thanks for the review

Whoa

In the very beginning I was like "wtf? this is weird" as I thought it was only boom and bang. but after that there was a damn mess. I think your mic needs a real cleanup! The voices sounds horrible in this song, meant by the clearity. I didn´t catch what it was saying.

Nice beats and melodies, really kick ass bass in it!

-WR-

Gillenium responds:

Boooooo. I think the crackling god-awful mic defines this track. If it had been a clean recording, I don't think it would have nearly as much personality. I recorded it on a shitty old mic from kmart that I stomped on for a while before recording. I like to try new things...

Thanks for review!
